"How is your current relationship with God? I'm struggling to grasp that i can actually have a relationship. i feel like my prayers have been so empty lately..."
Rest assured that every believer will enter a dry season. That doesn’t give us an excuse tho. Whenever we’re feeling distant from God, I believe that it’s because there’s something in our lives that’s getting in the way. & until we realize what it is & address it, we’re going to keep feeling distant.
Like for me personally, the beginning of this year I felt SO distant from God. & it took me months to figure out that it was because there was a certain thing that I wasn’t letting go of. & it was getting in the way of my relationship with God. It wasn’t until I surrendered it to Him that my walk started to move forward again. This year has just been so crazy with all that’s happened & it’s still hard. I still fall. But I know that God is honored when we continually seek Him. So keep going, & I will definitely pray for you <3
"Is it a sin to smoke cigarettes? Or hookah? I'm not sure if there is a black and white answer to this question, but just curious of your opinion. Thanks in advance (:"
You’re right. There is no black & white verse concerning smoking. BUT, the Bible does say that our body is a temple that belongs to God & commands us to take care of it. Taking care of our bodies is honoring to God, therefore doing anything that harms the body is dishonoring to God. Smoking has a lot of negative effects on the body, both physically & mentally.
The chemicals in cigarettes are physiologically & psychologically addictive, meaning the body & mind become addicted. Smoking also has negative effects on the lungs, mouth, brain, & more. One of the more commonly known effects of smoking is lung cancer. But there’s also other diseases connected to smoking such as asthma, emphysema, & it can also cause birth defects. Yes, just went nurse mode on you there. The nicotine can become habit forming, which affects your mind. We are commanded to protect our minds as well.
So in my opinion, yes, smoking is a sin.
“Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you & was given by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.” - 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NLT)
